A mother-of-two given a shock lung diagnosis has thanked a supermarket pizza for saving her life. <br>Janette Schofield, of Oldham, Greater Manchester, was clueless about her disease until she suffered a freak accident while cooking an meat feast pizza.<br>She was left in ‘excruciating’ pain after fracturing her spine when she fell checking on the dish out of the oven. <br>But tests taken at the hospital also revealed the 45-year-old had an abnormal 4cm growth on her left lung.<br>It left her needing emergency surgery and four rounds of chemo. <br> Janette Schofield, of Oldham, Manchester, was left in ‘excruciating’ pain after fracturing her spine when she fell taking an Asda meat feast pizza out of the oven (pictured above with one of the pizza recently).
But on arrival at the hospital, doctors also detected a lesion – an abnormal growth – on her left lung<br> She was enrolled on the cancer investigation pathway at Oldham Chest Clinic on January 6, 2022 and undertook a series of tests and scans to determine the cause and size of the lesion.
